Escrow Inbox

Write to the company. It has to prove who it is to answer.

A question goes into escrow instead of into a void. Nothing is posted to anyone — the company arrives at its own page here and has to demonstrate it can act for the entity before it can read a word. That proof is worth more than the answer.

Nothing here is ever sent to anybody.

No company is contacted, and none can be from here. The database physically refuses to record a question as sent: status is pinned to held and dispatched_at to NULL by CHECK constraints (migration 0291), and both rejected the write with error 23514 when tested against production. That is not a limitation we are working around — it is the design. A company that was never mailed cannot be spammed, tipped off, or contacted in breach of a sanctions regime.

How it works

4 of 5 steps live
/01

You write

Pick a company anywhere in the corpus and put your question. It is stored against your account and nothing else.

Live
/02

We hold it

The question sits in escrow. It is not forwarded, not published, and never attached to the company's public record. The database physically refuses to mark it as sent.

/03

The company finds its own page

We post nothing. Every company in the corpus already has a public page here, and the invitation to open its inbox stands on it — the same way a business finds its own listing in any directory.

It has to prove who it is

To open the inbox, someone must show they can act for that company: control of a registry address or domain, a registry-issued code, or a document. That proof is the asset — nobody else holds verified reach into offshore shells.

The reply is worth something

A verified answer is dated and attached to the record. The company had to come to us to give it — and every attempt, verified or refused, is itself a signal about the company.

By hand

Step 05 is marked by hand deliberately. Verifying that somebody genuinely controls an offshore entity is a judgement, and automating it would be the one place in this product where a wrong answer does real damage — so a person reads every claim.

/02

Put a question to a company

Pick any company in the corpus and write what you would actually want answered. It is held against your account, and you can delete it at any time.

Is this your company?

No account needed

Open the inbox for an entity you control, read what has been put to it, and answer on the record. A person reads every claim — tell us how you can show you are entitled to act, and we will come back to you at the address you give.

How can you show it?
Filing a claim reveals nothing about the entity to you.

Why nothing is posted

Measured 2026-08-11

Not squeamishness — arithmetic. Sampling 59,887 rows out of 116,936,964 companies returned no electronic contact route at all, and the full property vocabulary holds no email, website or phone field anywhere. A product built on posting letters would have a compose box and nowhere to post them.

So the letter is never posted. It waits, and the company comes to it — which turns out to be the better half of the idea anyway: a company that walked in and proved who it is has told us something no mailing list ever could.
